He has also served as administrator of the Cuirt Poetry Festival there, performed with Macnas, directed two Galway Arts Festival parades, and toured Macnas on U2s Zooropa tour in 1993. Many of his articles and short stories have appeared in both local and national papers and magazines. He has also published two childrens books. Dick is currently working on a biography of his wife, the artist Marja van Kampen.
